Our Mission:

The mission of the Church of the Good Shepherd is to be a community of faithful Christians committed to the proclamation - through word and action - of God's redemptive love for the world.

Good Shepherd Parish gives witness to and celebrates the risen Christ’s presence in the life of each person. Knowing that all things in this world are gifts of God, presented to us so that we can know God more closely and make a return of love more readily; recognizing God as the Origin of Life, the giver of freedom and the source of all that we have and are and will be; knowing ourselves to be recipients and caretakers of God’s many gifts; grateful for all that we have received; eager to cultivate our gifts out of love for God and one another. We, as a Parish, prayerfully and joyously serve our community, following the example and command of Jesus, The Good Shepherd.

God, our Father, bless our Parish of the Good Shepherd. Help us to welcome all who come to worship, adore and praise You, the One true God and Father of us all. Jesus, be with us, as we celebrate your life, death and resurrection in Word and Sacrament. Holy Spirit, fill our parish family with your love. Help us to love one another in our parish and in our family. Guide us in your holy will for the present and the future of our Parish of the Good Shepherd. AMEN.

Worship

Our worship experience is vital in developing a relationship with God. Word and sacrament are essential elements of worship, intended to proclaim the gospel in a variety of ways that transform members and seekers of all ages.

Community

We strive to be a closely connected community of believers that nurtures a sense of acceptance and belonging in all people. By fostering relationships both inside and outside of the congregation, we can better support and care for one another in our service to our local community and to the world.

Faith

Our faith grows as we encounter God in our daily lives. Faith in Christ frees us from sin and empowers us to serve, and our experience serving others helps us grow in faith.

Respect
In response to the relationship God has established with us, we strive to create an environment in which all relationships are based on love, trust, and responsibility. By respecting one another in this way, we can serve with joy and confidence.

Service
Our mission is modeled after the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. Christ is our example of how we are meant to reach out and serve our community through our ministry programs and our daily lives.

Family
Our congregation and the local community span many generations. We seek to nurture intergenerational relationships and serve family members of all ages through worship, educational programs, and ministry opportunities.

Stewardship
God has given us everything - our time, talents, and treasure - for our benefit and for use in God's service. God has given us the privilege and responsibility to care for, use, and generously share all of these gifts in service of God's mission to the whole world.
