The Community Garden transforms empty space along the border of our property into a source of food and pride for members of the neighborhood
Over 20 raised beds and a compost bin were constructed in space that would have otherwise simply been given over to ground cover. Every spring members of the neighborhood sign up for plots, and throughout the summer grow food for themselves or friends.
The Community Garden was inspired by the passion of the late Ken Lagerquist, a leader in the parish and owner of a landscaping business.
The URI Master Gardeners program donates free seeds and provides some advice to gardeners.
